It’s true, the Professional Review is the final stage of the grading process before becoming Professionally registered.

What happens in the Professional Review?
The Professional Review is much like having a job interview. You send off your reports which is like you CV and ECSA now want to meet with you and have a discussion on how your work experience is aligned with ECSA outcomes. In the Professional Review, you will generally walk through the following 3 steps
Step 1: Presentation of how your work experience aligns with ECSA outcomes
Within the first 15 minute, you will be required to present how your work experience is aligned with ECSA 11 outcomes . Now you may be saying, what presentation templates will I use, how will I handle any objections or how do I control my emotions as I get nervious when I present. Keep reading to find out how you can overcome all these setbacks.
Step 2: Testing of ethics
After handling all of ECSA questions about your experience, ECSA may proceed to indirectly test your knowledge of the Engineering Code of Conduct, Standards and ethics. This is sometimes not as straight forward as it sounds as sometimes compliance with standards is tested by asking you what sounds like a design question.
Step 3: CPD strategy plan after you become Professionally Registered
The final step may involve a discussion on how you plan to score 25 points in the 3 CPD groups after you have become professionally registered. This is important as in 5 years time, ECSA have the right to deregister your membership should you not demonstrate compliance with their CPD requirements.
